Influenster Jingle Vox Box!!

Hello Folks, Merry Christmas!

Just yesterday I received a box full of goodies, compliments of influenster. All my goodies are were free with the hopes that I would write some reviews and share the items with you all!!

Influenster is this amazing company that sends you products off all kinds for you to try and review!

This first Product is Pure Ice Nail Polish, It is in the color of Keep Walking, It is a clear like polish with purple sparkles! Pure Ice does not have the great reputation with long lasting, but you can get away with long lasting sparkle with this type of polish, because it is a clear with sparkle, you can easily apply over a higher end brand of polish!

The Next item I was gifted was this Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, Cetaphil is a great moisturizer, i would recommended! I actually have got the opportunity to use in the past! This brand is highly recommended by Doctor who treat dry skin!  This stuff is great for very dry skin!! It smooths and helps heal cracked dry skin!!

This is exactly what you think, False lashes by kiss, thankfully these lashes are very everyday wearable, I have had some experience with lashes, I have been blessed with dark lashes to begin with so I am not a every day false lash kind of girl but these might make an appearance on new years eve, that is if we have any plans.  Also with the lashes came some lash adhesive with aloe, so it is more gentle on those natural lashes of yours.

Cookies! These biscoff Cookies are a little hard, but nice for dipping in coffee or hot chocolate!

Hallmark Itty Bitty, These are a New product from hallmark! These cute little itty bitty dolls would be great stocking stuffer!

Eyeliner, This NYC eyeliner, perfect to go with those lashes show above, is 24 hours long ware and WATERPROOF, just in case you are stuck in the rain or snow on new years eve, No one wants to bring in the New Year with Photos of running eyeliner, because you decided to celebrate outside in the rain/snow.

And last but not least, is this awesome coupon for free tater tots! I can't wait to go redeem this coupon and dig in to some mighty fine tater tots!!

Please Check out influenster if you would like to recieve some free products to review!!

Benjamin Netanyahu the modern day Mordeca

This week has been full of biblical examples. I am not sure "biblical examples" is a good way to describe it but that is all I have at this time.

First:

Let me start with Benjamin Netanyahu speech that was given in front of the United States Congress. Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on the topic of Persia, and the nuclear deal that our current Administration is playing around with. As I listen to his speech over and over again. I tried to pay attention to the details. It was not until I was sitting with my husband that I pointed out that Benjamin Netanyahu is saying Persia, He is calling Iran by its old name. Why would He do that?

The answer is simple for those who know the biblical story of Esther.

This is the month of Esther. The month that Jews have on their calender to celebrate and remember the princess of Persia. Esther a Jew, was taken to be Queen to the King Ahasuerus. She saved many Jewish lives thanks to the warning from her cousin Mordicia. (to read the whole story, read the book of Esther)

In Benjamin Netanyahu speech this week, He referred to himself as the modern day Mordicia. I believe this speech is one of the most important speeches I will hear in my life time. We as a Nation like in our history will come to a point when we will have to pick a side. Benjamin Netanyahu came to warn us. He came to wake the American people. However I am afraid that no one was listening.

The Jewish people, along with Christians are being attacked. Will America be the modern day Esther? Will we stand up and side with Israel?

Second:

Husband and I went and saw the movie "The dropbox" last night. A story about a selfless Pastor and his wife living in South Korea rescuing babies through a large box that he installed on the side of his house.

As I watched the heart touching movie, I was reminded that all children are a gift. Not only are children a gift, but they are sent to earth by God for a purpose. Many of the children that Pastor Lee and his wife take in have some kind of disability. The selfless love that this Pastor and his wife show is incredible. I left that movie theater not with a broken heart, but with a heart that was tender . I was happy for the babies who were going to be given a chance to fulfill Gods purpose, but what I continue to think about is the poor girls who were the mothers of these babies. The girls who lived in a society that gave them no other choice but to abandon their baby. My heart hurts for those girls and women. This morning I just prayed that God would find all those mothers, and heal their broken hearts, because only God can do that. Only God will give them a whole heart.

Pray that God will show you what it is that He wants you to learn or do with your life, We all have a purpose.

Somali Extremist

with Somali extremist most recent call to attack the Mall of America in Minnesota it only makes me wonder what is next for Columbus Ohio. Most Americans do not know that Minnesota has the largest Somali population in the US, with Columbus Ohio being the 2nd largest Somali population. Us as Americans should remember the horrible attack on the Mall in Kenya, that was lead by Somali extremist. This is real.

I'm still here....

Hello faithful readers,

I am still here. I am still alive. I have not been blogging much recently it seems to be a on going struggle. I want to continue sharing my thoughts and life, but at the same time I feel like I am constantly failing on being consistent in the blogger world.

I am constantly throwing blog ideas around in my head, but can't seem to settle for anything.

maybe one of these days I'll have it figured out.

International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation

It was not until recent that I came across Female Genital Mutilation due to an experience I had at my work place. I was completely taken back at what I was told. The images that flashed into my head were unbelievable.  It was over a matter of days that I thought about this concept, this evil, and this abusive power,or maybe power isn't even the right word to describe it.

For those who do not know what Female Genital Mutilation is, I will inform you. FGM is a operation, in which the female Genitals mainly the clitoris is partially or entirely removed or injured with the goals of altering a woman's sexual feelings.  This operation in the past years has been done mainly before puberty between the ages of 4-6, but increasingly the popularity of FGM is being performed on girls much younger. As young as a couple days old.

As I write out this blog post my stomach hurts, My mind is going in a million different direction, Why do people do this? I have not done much research into the back ground of this horrible practice other than knowing that it is a major practice found in many Muslim communities.

I can't help but think of how silly us as America's our. Thinking that we are raging war on women because certain people don't believe in abortions or you may not be paid as much as your male co worker. When really we have no idea what the true war on women is like. Today is international day of zero tolerance to female genital mutilation. It is the topics like this that weigh heavy on my heart, making me wish that Jesus would come back soon.

Let us raise awareness and have zero tolerance. Let us focus on the real war on women and pray for girls to be rescued, and souls to be saved.

Happy Birthday Ronald Reagan!

How do I even begin a post for someone who even as a little girl I understood there was something special about him.

Happy Birthday  President Ronald Reagan, I can only imagine the birthday party that you are having in heaven today. Let us take a walk down memory lane, and watch a few videos of our late President.

Presidents Ronald Reagan's First Inaugural Address.

“We are a nation that has a government–not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the Earth.”

This next visit is the popular debate between President Reagan and President Carter.

Next is a speech, I wish our current leader would listen, and take note!

\

The next one is about a socialized medicine a topic that is near and dear to my heart.

President Ronald Reagan's last speech in the oval office.

This great man touches my heart in so many ways. He relights the fire in my soul, to fight for good. He believed in America.

Parting is such sweet sorrow.

My Take on Vaccines as a Medical Professional.

There is so much controversy right now in the media about the current measles outbreak and whether or not parents should have the choice to vaccinate their children.
As this topic has been bubbling I have become excited to jump in and share with all of you my take on vaccines.

Let me tell you from experience not from experience as a parent but experience as a healthcare worker. I am the girl in your pediatric office or primary care office who is physically giving your child and yourself his or her vaccines. The experience of my own studies, hearing from people and watching families I have found that vaccines are sometimes a topic that is over looked when deciding on how to care for and raise a family.

I do believe that vaccines were created to help. I am not convinced that everything you hear about government conspiracies and vaccines being produced solely to make money is completely corrected for all vaccines. I do how ever think there are certain vaccine topics that are under that category, but Because of time and length, I am going to stick with children vaccines for this particular blog post.

Below I have uploaded a timeline, this time line came straight from the CDC website. Take a Look at it.

I want you all to understand that I am for most vaccines. I do believe that with certain vaccines that I administer that I am protecting a child from a certain disease. However, I am not a fan of the current vaccination scheduled that all Doctors’ offices reference when it comes to vaccinating children.

I am all for what some would call a Delay vaccine schedule or some may call it Alternative vaccine schedule. If you would go ahead and take a look at the CDC vaccine chart I posted above. Which if you have children, you should have received something at some point that looks like this chart. It is standard; many offices print this chart right from the CDC website itself to hand out to parents at well child exams. Looks where it has a list of vaccines under the two month age. You will see that at two months babies are given 6 vaccines, give or take one.

My personal belief is that at two months, 6 vaccines is a lot. I have given many 2 month, 4 month, 6 month, even 12 month babies up to 6 vaccines at a time. Let me tell you, it’s hard. It’s hard on the babies. It’s hard on the parents.  Babies, sweet babies are trying to build up an immune system, which is being exposed to all kinds of stuff, thanks to family members, church friends, grocery stores. At two months on a regular vaccine scheduled you are introducing the body to 6 new things. Were on the "Alternative"or "Delayed" scheduled you might only introduce their body to 2 new things. I think that there immune-system, and over all response to the vaccine are  on a Alternative  vaccine schedule is better, making it easier to watch for things such as side effect, allergic reaction, maybe even signs of Autism.

Dun dun dun….. AUTISM.

MMR, is the vaccine that protects against Measles, Mumps and Rubella. This is the big vaccine in the spot light right know.  The most recent outbreak of Measles has caused many political figures to once again over step there boundaries and say things like, All children Vaccines must be administered at certain times, and Parents should not get to choose if there child gets vaccinated or not.

Um hello Mr/ Mrs. Senator or whoever you are, did you take any medical classes? Oh that right, you didn't.

MMR is also the vaccine the raised the debated a few years ago about vaccines causing Autism. (see how I linked this all together) Most Doctors will say that test were done, and Autism does not link to MMR or they will say not enough reports of Autism after children being given the MMR vaccine, I'v heard it all. In my soul, I want to believe that vaccines (in general- because I think that it is just not MMR that could be causing Autism) don't cause Autism, but to be honest I think there could be a link, between  vaccines and the appropriate number of vaccines being given at one time, because there are a lot of un-answered question about Autism, and with autism now considered an Epidemic, Something has to be causing it. (promise rant is almost over) Parents should be more watchful when vaccines are administered, and especially careful if you are not choosing to be on a delayed/alternative schedule.

Now it is completely wrong for people to be angry or mad at parents who have chosen a Delayed/Alternative vaccine schedule. We live in a country with open boarders, companies with business overseas, and frequent travel.  We saw a great example of this a few months ago with Ebola being a huge concern across the United State. When I worked at Akron General, we had many patents with families with children, who were brought over by companies to work. They were not properly vaccinated. It seemed that If you were here on a work Visa it did not matter if you had  proper vaccine records. It wasn't until they were going to be traveling to other countries for work, that we would say, look you should have your Hepatitis vaccine to travel, Or they would want to put their children in American school, and we would have to vaccinate there 12 years old with vaccine they should have already had, but they hadn't. I have had patients who have hepatitis, and until proper lab work was done they didn't know.  In my experience, a lot of diseases we as Americans are exposed to, come from over-seas or  those who have not been vaccinated at all. There are some religions and or groups of people in America that do not believe in vaccinating their children, and that it a risk that they take. Do I think it is wrong? No, because they answer to God and we live in a free country, and if other children have been vaccinated, no need to worry. Right?

so to all you parents and no parents out there: Think about the children in your life. Self educate yourself and take time to research which vaccines the children in your life need, and what is the appropriate schedule for your families.

Until next time- rant over!

Bonne Bell Closing in Westlake Ohio

What a sad day for all the girls in America who grew up with the popular Lip Smacker in there pocket. Lip Smacker the popular item produced by the  Bonne Bell company started in 1927 in Westlake Ohio. Jesse Bell founder of the Bonne Bell company naming it after is daughter. The Bonne Bell company announced today that it would be closing in March leaving 91 employee job less.  The family-owned Bonne Bell targeted young aged girls, with 72 flavors of lip Smackers its hard not to find one you like.

In honor of Lip Smackers announcement today my sweet husband bought me a Lip Smacker Lip Gloss. I have to admit it taste just like it did as a kid. My heart breaks a little, but just like anything in this short life, All good things must come to an end.

Please take some time and enjoy the Bonne Bell and Lip Smacker website. Explore the many wonderful flavored creations for the little time we still have left with them.

Why I struggle with the Super Bowl and Football in General.

The most watched football game is right around the corner. Last years match up between the Seahawks and Broncos was seen by 111.5 million people, but I was not one of the 111.5 million people watching.

The super bowl for some may just be the two best football teams going at it for a title, but for many it is another night of horror, another night of random men and women taking advantage of them. Paying for them to perform a service.

The traffic that is brought to the Super Bowl cities is enough to cover the pimps looking to boost their sales. The pimps and victims can go unnoticed making the super bowl the largest sex trafficking hot spot in the United State.

According to Forbes, 10,000 prostitutes were brought to Miami for the Super Bowl in 2010. Lets me make it clear, prostitution of minors is considered trafficking under federal law.

Do I even need to explain what my struggle is? Each football season leading up to a Super Bowl is just a reminder for me. I fear for the poor innocent girls and boys who will never be the same.

Sure I enjoy the Super Bowl commercial, but to sit through and watch a game, when I know that there are other things going on.  I can't, I don't get into it. My anxiety spikes, my heart gets heavy.

It was just today when I realized while reading about the task forces they have prepared for this years super bowl why I don't like football in general. It is because my little eyes cannot look past and process in my brain football without remembering what happens at the end of the each season.

So this year as you sit with friends, family, and co-workers watching this years Super Bowl match please take time to pray that lives will be rescued, and that hearts will be changed.

Sunshine Girl in Red

**Please don't be upset with my own personal problems with Football, I am not in anyway saying that People who enjoy and look forward to the Super Bowl is a horrible person, because that is not possible-Every one is different! So for those who enjoy football, May the best team win.

Making due with what you have in the tiny pantry.

With my Husband on frequent work trips, I have come to realize that if I lived with just Daisy that we- we referring to Daisy and I- we would not be on the best well rounded diet.

Husband and I have been trying hard to take processed foods out of our diet and trying our hardest to eat more fruits and vegetables leaving our tiny pantry a little bare if you know what I mean, and if you don't let me explain. NO CHOCOLATE CHIPS and CURRENTLY NO PEANUT BUTTER.

I know you all are thinking that we have gone crazy, but let me assure you we will not be chocolate or peanut butter less for much longer. You can sleep tonight knowing that I have placed that on my next shopping list.

I cannot blame the pantry being bare on just the whole "eating better" it is also because I am not one to go grocery shopping for just myself. If husband is going to be gone for a few days I like to just make due with what we have in the pantry, and with this work trip landing right after a weekend in Northeast Ohio visiting with family and friends we have not made a trip to the grocery store in over a week.

so Daisy and I would like to share with you the good and bad of our meals the past two days.

Day one: Monday January 26

Breakfast: Tim Horton's right before husband left for his work trip- GOOD!
Lunch: Soup- GOOD!

okay so far you are thinking not so bad. Right?

Dinner: Rachel and Daisy's Pea and Tuna Mushroom Soup-GOOD/BAD

Rachel and Daisy's Pea and Tuna Mushroom Soup Recipes:

Place frozen peas into soup pan, Turn oven on medium- this part is tricky because my stoves only setting is high. Next you add a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of tuna. Stir until hot. Once hot, Dish into soup bowl and top with sour cream and hot sauce.

Let's just say that one bowl was all I needed of that soup.

Day two: Tuesday January 27

Breakfast: Cereal with coconut milk-GOOD!

Lunch: Frozen broccoli and carrots with mustard-GOOD!

Snack: Cottage cheese-GOOD!

Dinner: Frozen broccoli with mustard again-GOOD!

Desert: Brownie in a Mug-BAD!

The Brownie in a mug was because of a chocolate craving. I was able to find a really easy recipe thanks to a Google search. IT WAS HORRIBLE!

Overall I would say it was successful. Daisy enjoyed the left over soup and broccoli. I have one more day of random eating. Husband comes home tonight which means a trip to the grocery store is in my future.

If you learned anything from today's blog post I hope that it was to stay away from those brownies in a mug, and that you should always have peanut butter in your pantry.

All Is Well!

All is well. Just not as planned. As you can see this is not a USA blog post that I had promised at the beginning of the year, but it is a Blog Post!

I hope you all will forgive me for my absence. You see I have been playing with different blog ideas in my head- But today I just needed someone, something to write too about what life has been like the past couple weeks.

As some of you may already know, I started a new job in December, and some of you also know that I struggled when I first started. Not quite sure what I had got myself into. It is not that I don't like my co-workers, or my actually duties at the job, but it is different. I spent the first month and actually all of January praying and thinking. Saying "God I really like this Job, I like who I work with, I like that I  have new responsibilities, I like my schedule",  but I was still struggling with not understanding how I was suppose to fit in with a different patient culture and different patient personalities in a  office that is trying to be built, but only being built with certain and somewhat strict regulation.  Making me want what I used to have at my old office. A primary care that was busy, crazy, overwhelming, and physical draining, but Something happened yesterday.

Yesterday was a typical Monday at work. I went in with only one patient on the schedule. Thankfully with a couple walk-ins, and a sick visit, we had a scheduled of four patients. I was excited, you need to understand that for a practice that is limited to a smaller patient base, and is in the progress of being built and expanded, having four patients on your scheduled is very good.

It was one patient in particular yesterday that as I drove home, and spent the night replaying the office visit and conversation back in my head trying to process the thoughts and feelings I had that I realized. I may be at a small practice, but yesterday after weeks of asking God to show me what my purpose was in this office, He showed me. He had me realize that I did not always have to be in a fast passed, overwhelming office to see people who need help and Jesus in their life. I have chosen not go into exact detail but my heart was broke yesterday. It broke for the patient, and her family.

It was like God was saying to me Darling, I know you are so worried about not being in an office like what you were used to in Akron, but don't you see? My children are everywhere and they are lost and hurting. I may not have been able to save my patient and her family like I wished I could, but I am forever changed. I was reminded that I am at my office for a reason, and that sometimes prayer is all I can do when it comes to patient care.

I am so thankful for my Father in heaven, the ultimate Physician. I am thankful that I can go to him in prayer understanding that He is the One who heals in this sick and broken world.

Saving the world one prayer at a time,

Sunshine Girl in Red.
