Premiums are going up and well folks your healthcare.... is worse.

Yesterday the Department of Health and Human Service (HHS) released a report regarding Premiums and Plan offerings in Obamacare’s exchanges for the upcoming 2014 year. Despite the Obama administration promises, as many Americans have already figured out do to letters from insurance company’s or from a notice from there employee healthcare premiums are going up and the quality of coverage…. Is worse.
What the HHS report did not mention is that many of these plans are a lot like what America knows as Medicaid; actually these new plans are Medicaid managed care plans. Insurance companies admit “Will look a lot like the Medicaid plans we are currently administering,” Not all patient know or understand that they are going to be placed in programs with very low physician reimbursements rates and less coverage then the average insurance plan.
I want to encourage you to take time and pray for our leaders and our current health care.  America needs a healthcare that encourages a good patient-physician relationship, not a healthcare that hinders their relationship.

America is in for a rude Awaking, if we do not get things turned around.

Today Mother, Andrea and I went on an adventure. An Adventure that took us all through Canton, the good and back parts, and landed us at Saint George Orthodox Romanian church for a little Romania Festival. We were hoping to learn all about the country my sister is currently living in.

It was such a party. They had Romanian food, pastries, music and dancing.

House Passes Spending bill that will Defund ObamaCare!!

What a morning it has been in the House! The Representatives on both sides stood up and spoke out today against the healthcare law. It is a great day! It has been before the House 47 times; 47 times it took for them to vote to stop Obamacare while funding the government to prevent a shutdown. The vote was 230-189. The House of Representatives made a big leap today having listened to the people of America!! It is now time for the bill to go before Senate and for it to be voted on.

Each day new regulations come to light in the healthcare world making it harder and harder on practices who are trying to make a difference in the lives of their patients. It’s hard trying to save the world when you have to debate an insurance company over the phone on why a patient needs diagnostic testing; we should not have to explain why a patient needs a stress test if he has a history of heart concerns and heart palpation's. I see people hurt by this law already, and it is frustrating.

Along with Cleveland Clinic and UPS this week Home Depot came out saying that because of health care cost they would be dropping their full time employees to part time so that they would not have to pay into the horrible health care cost. At my own job this week I found out that my insurance is going to increase more than 20 dollars for just me. That is more than 40 plus dollars a month, and I’m a current health care working. This health care is not creating jobs Mr. President. It is as Rep Eric Cantor said “Obamacare is turning America from a full-time to a part-time America.” Here is a list of other company's that are cutting hours do to high healthcare cost and insurance changes.

I ask you to pray and encourage our leaders in the senate to vote on what is best for the people of America.  Listening to the people of America should not be a limited exercise. We need the leaders in the senate to bring this to the senate floor and have this healthcare debate.

Hears to hoping Senate follows the House in listening to the people of America.

For the Record the government shutdown is a political game that no one has time to play!

Changes in Northeast Ohio HealthCare

Last month Northeast Ohio was shocked when Community Health announced that they would be buying Akron General which would also mean a merge with Cleveland Clinic. Great, more monopolized healthcare, Right?! Everyone seemed a bit surprise, except for all the Akron General employees who knew there was a change in the future, because of the recent layoffs within our own health system.

We as employees were just unsure as to what the change was going to be. The healthcare law already has us jumping through loops. It has as a whole has put a lot of restrictions and regulation on treatment plans for our patient. I can honestly say we all had a bad gut feeling that there would be job changes with the new health care cost

In a meeting that held the same day the announcement was made, Akron General upper management assured us that it did not look like there would be any more layoffs with the merge and that this would be a great thing for northeast Ohio. Unfortunately that does not seem to be the case- Cleveland Clinic came out yesterday, not even a month later saying that thanks to the new health care law and unseen changes they would have to make 300 million cut to their budget which include........ Jobs.

Because of Medicaid’s horrible reimbursement rate, the new government funded health care that everyone is buying into doesn't look any better than our already tax supported government healthcare program (Medicaid). Hospital and doctors know there not going to be getting paid. In 2012 only 1 out of 3 doctors would even accept Medicaid.

This just a few examples of why Obamacare is bad for you and I as individuals and us as a country. The lasting negative effects of government run healthcare will push us as a country further into debt and deny many the care they need. Through loss of funding and multiplying restrictions that could hinder the quality of people's lives if not cause death in some cases. It is so important to talk to the leaders you voted into office. Make sure that they are there tomorrow fighting to defund Obamacare. As we know the bill will start out in the House of Representatives and move on to the Senate, where I believe it will come up against opposition. Once again:  It is important to contact those who hold office and let them know the negative effects Obamacare is having on you personally, the local economy and our nation as a whole. There are forces at work that are trying change the foundation of our country through the falsehoods of what is for the common good. Who are these people that they think they can pay god with our lives, our well-being and our future. This is also a time to call out to God, the one true physician, Who healed the blind and made the lame walk, Pray for our country's leaders and the current healthcare workers across the nation as they work day in and day out savings lives though him.

Tomorrow is a big day.

Internet Security Maybe A Problem.

According to news sources America is considering military action on Syria, we may see some trouble in the US. Syria has the capability to enter into a cyber war. Just yesterday Twitter and the Washington Post was hacked spreading lie that the White House was under explosions. With the amount of damage Syria can do, we also know that Iran has a history of getting into trouble. Iran was blamed of the attacks on the Aramco oil company wrecking about 30000 computers. Iran also is in the history of attacks we saw last fall, with crashes the dozens of US bank websites. It will be interesting what we see to come of this as Homeland Security does in the following weeks.

I'v said it before. World War 3 folks,  with our hands in so many other country's pockets for financial reason, It will be interesting to see what our future holds.

Sod, West Virginia.

Sod, West Virginia what a unique little place on the map-that is if you can find it.

I spent that last weekend in July, staying with friends in there parsonage. Visiting, getting lots of sleep,  drinking coffee, and exploring Charleston and the hills and forts surrounding the town.

I was so very excited when we went into town and got to explore some of the little shops with antiques. I am proud to say I pick up a few good items and i'm looking forward to sharing them on this page in a future blog post.

West Virginia was a pleasant little get away from the real world. I am looking forward to going back.

Not Surprise. At All. Its Detroit, Its been declining for years.

Detroit is a great example of a big government failure. Last week Detroit became the largest city in American history to declare bankruptcy. Once a great city, is now on the lowest point of the economic latter. So why are people so surprised? We have been watched Detroit fall face first for years.

My Grandpa himself was once a hard worker that could be seen on the tallest sky-scraper in Detroit, but look at those buildings know it is nothing but a concrete jungle and has been for years.

Look at this website that list 25 facts about Detroit. Its plain and simple.

America, Wake up! This is the new America. Talk to my family, Talk to the 78, 000 people who left there homes. I'm sure they would all tell you stories. Tell you this has been happening for years.

Zucchini Lasagna equals super yummy and Gluten free. WIN!

This past week my mom, a friend, along with myself decided to take the leap and go GLUTEN free. Yep, you heard me right Gluten free. Thanks to pinterest, who made it look way easy I started with a lasagna recipe.Let me tell you, it was Fantastic!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb 93% lean beef (You can also go no beef-if your in to that kinda thing)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil (okay really does not have to be fresh if you don't have it)
  • 3 medium zucchini, sliced 1/8" thick ( I did not think three was enough, The next time I am going to make sure I buy 4 medium-large Zucchini )
  • 15 oz part-skim ricotta
  • 16 oz part-skin mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 large egg
  • Your choice of pasta sauce

Directions:

In a medium sauce pan, brown meat and season with salt. When cooked drain in a strainer to remove any grease or left over fat. Add olive oil to the pan and saute garlic and onions for about 2 minutes. Return the meat to the pan, add tomatoes, basil, salt and pepper. Simmer on low for at least 20 minutes.

While that is doing its thing, slice zucchini into slice (thick or thin- depending on knife skills and your choice) add lightly sale and grill or saute to relive extra water. Blot excess moisture with paper towel.
    Preheat oven to 350.

In a medium bowl mic ricotta chesse, parmesan cheese and egg.

In a casserole dish, spread sauce on the bottom and layer as desire. Cover with foil when done.

Bake 45 minutes covered at 375, then uncovered 15 minutes. Let stand about 5-10 minutes before serving.

Enjoy! I hope you fall in love with this as much as I did!

    Medicare Expansion

Oh my what a world we live in.

I struggle with all this push for states expanding medicare. Below is a map showing the states and where they stand.

Map was taken from "Where each state stands on ACA's Medicaid expansion | The Advisory Board Daily Briefing"

I promise one of these I'll rant my feelings on medicare expansion, but tonight I'm going to let it boil in my head a little while longer.

    Friends & Family

This past weekend was such a blessing.

I spent a lot of time with my grandma at our garage sale on Friday and Saturday, as we are trying to get her ready to move into our house.

I got to spend Thursday night with my best friend Danae. Enjoyed her company for a few hours.

Saturday night was a beautiful church wedding. Congratulation to Chelsea and Josh, which also meant that my dearest sweet friend Rebekah was in town. She is such an amazing role model and Christ like example. I cherish the friendship we have.

This weekend also brought both, I repeat BOTH of the Scott boys home. What a joy my heart feels when they are home and I know they are safe.

Mom and I are getting ready to spend a couple days off, enjoying fireworks and friends. Plus I'm waiting on my blond hair hunk to come home and spend some quality time with me.

Oh, and a special shout out to my sister, who is currently living in Romania, I love you! Happy Forth of July Sis!

    Happy 4th of July Bloggers!
